Drugs among Teenagers

Petaling Jaya: Assistant Superintendent of Police, Yaakob Abd Manap Narcotics Branch from Bukit Aman gave a briefing while attending a banquet at SMK Kelana Jaya. He was talking about a drug that has always been the focus of today's students.

He said, "Among the drugs that are now the focus of all students regardless of school or university are cannabis, ecstasy, heroin, methamphetamine and yaba". Average in Malaysia showed the drug addicts, aged from 18 to 25 years is the most high once every year, and the remaining inconsistencies.

Starbucks faces lawsuit for false advertising

A woman from Chicago is suing Starbucks for US$5 million for false advertising claiming that the coffee giant is under filling its beverages by adding too much ice.

Hence consumers are overpaying for their caffeine-fix.

The plaintiff Stacy Pincus, alleges that Starbucks “has engaged in the practice of misrepresenting” the amount of cold drink a customer will receive. As a result of this practice, Starbucks’ cold drinks contain “significantly less product than advertised , by design and corporate practice and procedure.”

“Starbucks’ advertising practices are clearly meant to mislead consumers when combined with the standard practice of filling a cold drink cup with far less liquid than the cup can hold,” the lawsuit charged.

Starbucks, in a statement to Reuters, called the lawsuit “without merit”

“Our customers understand and expect that ice is an essential component of any ‘iced’ beverage,” a spokeswoman for the Seattle-based company said.

“If a customer is not satisfied with their beverage preparation, we will gladly remake it,” she added.

Starbucks is one the largest coffee retailer in the world, with more than 23 ,000 stores in over 60 countries. In the US alone, it has over 13,000 stores. In 2015, Starbucks took in approximately $19.2 billion in total revenue, a 16.5% increase from fiscal year 2014.

Sales of cold drinks account for a substantial amount of this revenue, and have become increasingly popular in recent years. In fiscal 2014, shaken iced tea Cold Drinks were the most profitable menu addition of the year, said the suit.

Mat Salleh

      Mat Salleh was born in Inanam. His father was Datu Bulu, a traditional leader in Inanam and a member of the Suluk community. His mother was of Bajau descent. He had three siblings: Ali, Badin and Bolong. The family moved to Sugut, which unlike Inanam, was in the Company's concession but since the abandonment of its tobacco estates, it had reportedly been "left largely to its own devices", and enjoyed relative autonomy. There, Datu Bulu assumed a local leadership position along part of the Sugut River on the eastern coast of North Borneo.

       Mat Salleh was often physically described as slender and tall, with pockmarked features. He was also well known as a mysterious and intelligent man, with a commanding personality and presence. He was well-respected and his great tactical skills were renowned among the local communities.

Rentap

        Rentap was born in the Skrang area of Second Division in Sarawak. Not much is known about him until he was appointed one of the leading fighting men ("manok sabong" which literally means fighting cock) by a paramount chief in the division whose name was Orang Kaya Pemancha Dana "Bayang"

This chief as the Great War leader led major "ngayau" (war) expeditions to south of Sarawak to the mouth of Kapuas River in the now West Kalimantan in Indonesia. In one of those raids, the chief obtained a famous cannon with one of handles broken, thus it was called "Bujang Timpang Berang" (One Arm Bachelor) which marked with the year 1515. This cannon was later used by Rentap in his fight against the Brooke's troop at Sadok Hill until his final defeat in 1861. Libau Rentap, as a famous fighting man (Manok Sabong) of the Orang Kaya Pemancha Dana Bayang was a very brave fighting man and he always joined him in these sea war expeditions. In short, Dana "Byang" was indeed the mentor for Libau "Rentap" and another Paku Iban chief, Linggir "Mali Lebu".

      When Orang Kaya Pemancha Dana Bayang was old, Libau Rentap was taking over as the commanding officer and he led a number of similar raiding sea war expeditions to Sambas and Pontianak, Indonesia. During one of these raiding voyages Libau Rentap attacked and killed a boatful of Sambas people, one of them who was the nephew of the Sultan Sambas whose "Keris" (dagger) was identified by its golden handle was looted by Libau Rentap. From that incident, Libau RENTAP’s name became famous and was recognised by the Dayak Iban Skrangs as their Great War chief. This experience had prepared Rentap for the coming struggles in remaining his life especially in the rebellion against the famous Rajah James Brooke of Sarawak proper now called Kuching.

Tun Dr. Ismail Abdul Rahman

Tun Dr. Ismail Abdul Rahman (4 November 1915 – 2 August 1973) was a Malaysian politician from the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO). He held several Malaysian ministerial posts and was appointed as the second Deputy Prime Minister in 1970 by then Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak. Three years later, Tun Dr Ismail died in office due to a heart attack. Ismail has been called "the man who saved Malaysia" for his actions as Home Minister after the May 13 Incident of racial rioting in 1969. Ismail was born on 7 November 1915 in Johor Bahru, Johor. He was the son of Dato' Abdul Rahman bin Yassin, who was of Buginese descent. Dato Abdul Rahman was the first President of the Dewan Negara (Senate) of the Parliament of Malaysia, and also the first chairman of Malayan Banking. 

His maternal grandfather was Haji Mohamed Salleh bin Abdullah, an ethnic Chinese convert to Islam and former State Treasurer of Johor. After Zahara binte Abu Bakar, Abdul Rahman's wife and Ismail's mother, died in 1936, Abdul Rahman married Kamariah, the sister of Dato Onn Ja'afar, the Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) of Johor. The remarriage was encouraged by Sultan Ibrahim of Johor, who sought to unite the Johor aristocracy by blood. Abdul Rahman himself almost became Menteri Besar according to Ismail, but failed because he "refused to indulge in intrigues".

COURAGE OR DEATH?

SHAH ALAM – “My past experiences make me feel guilty”. Say Ajam (not her real name) about past life as a teenager before. Ajam told during his life as a teenager, he often hanging out and riding a bike with other their friends and when it was time for the weekend, they will be racing on the streets of rice nightlife week. Saturday night, among the teenagers will fill the streets with their action is illegal to race each other.

Most of them Yamaha125 like riding a motorcycle, Yamaha RXZ and Kawasaki RR. We all know that the 3 types of bikes are very fast in the moped category .The teenagers will modified her motorcycle to race each other for fun, to see who else was great and betting for money. With bikes owned, they will make trouble on the road to entice user’s motorbikes and other vehicles.

In terms of rational thought, they harm themselves. Actually they are brave but they show their mettle at the wrong place. The way they ride their bikes in a dangerous style, they are actually endangering themselves and other road users that other. For example, if an accident occurs between them, the roads will be jammed because of their unfavorable actions. Immorality is not supposed to happen because it could influence other young children to get stuck in the mire of Mat Rempit because children learn from what they see and when they see someone more mature than they do these unhealthy activities inadvertently they will regard us as a trigger to their teens about the world that will be experienced.

In relation to traffic police in Shah Alam police, Sergeant Rosli Mohamad Noor worked as Assistant Investigating Officers Traffic in Shah Alam said, Mat Rempit the symptoms of has long rampant in our country. The police in cooperation with Jabatan Pengankutan Awam (JPJ) will knock down all the riders who involved in the symptoms of Mat Rempit around Shah Alam and Police with corporation with Jabatan Pengankutan Awam (JPJ) will try to curb the menace this negative so this problem can be reduced.

      Sergeant Rosli Mohd Noor said that "if Mat Rempit or street gangs can be arrested when we perform the operation on a large scale, we will impose a severe action against all those involved in the symptoms of these Mat Rempit."” if convicted, they will be subject to severe legal action if arrested and if found guilty, they will be liable to imprisonment not exceeding one year and a fine of RM1, 000 ringgit or both. “Said Sarjan Rosli Mohammad Noor.

     As the public, we have to play an important role in this the symptoms of in order to be taken seriously because they are young but talented young people who misused and continues to drift to making a big mistake and will cause problems with the authorities.

    As young people, we have to use every time there is to do meaningful activities so that we can devote to sow religious service of the nation and our country someday.

Tuanku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj

      Tunku Abdul Rahman was born on 8 February 1903, in Alor Setar, Kedah, the seventh son of Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah, the twenty-fifth ruler of the Kedah Sultanate. Tunku's mother was Che Manjalara, the fourth wife of Sultan Abdul Hamid. At that time, cholera and malaria were very common all over Kedah and at least two of Tunku's brothers and his older sister died from cholera while Tunku himself suffered from intermittent attacks of malaria until he left for London in 1920. 

 Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah  was a Malaysian politician who served as the first Chief Minister of theFederation of Malaya from 1955 to 1957, before becoming Malaya's first Prime Minister after independence in 1957, remaining Prime Minister following the formation of Malaysia in 1963, when Sabah, Sarawak, and Singapore joined the federation, until his retirement in 1970. Commonly known simply as "Tunku" or "The Tunku" (a Malay royal title), Tunku Abdul Rahman is widely regarded, even by his critics, as Malaysia's founding father, the architect of Malayan independence and the formation of Malaysia. As such, he is often referred to as Bapa Kemerdekaan (Father of Independence) or Bapa Malaysia (Father of Malaysia)
